CBS should be ashamed of themselves for the absurdity of their Sovereignty Movement hit piece. In their story, CBS tries to link the murder of two Arkansas police officers by Jerry Kane and Joesph Kane, to a movement of anti-government groups. How they come up with the absurd connection that people that care about sovereignty or question the government are no different than Jerry Kane and Joesph Kane is beyond insane. The actions of these two people are disturbing to say the least, but they in no way represent what the people in the sovereignty movement want. In fact you will find it is the exact opposite. The sovereignty movement is about restoring the values of self determination. It’s about being left alone and allowed to live freely.
It is well known that governments think they have the right to control people by force. Governments are the ones killing tens of thousands of people every year when people don’t follow their orders. Others are put in cages or have their income extorted. That is an evil philosophy to adhere too. I believe there needs to be a dialog between the people that want freedom to control their own lives and those that seek to control every aspect of human life. I am tired of the hit pieces put out by Homeland Security, Southern Poverty Law Center, and major media outlets trying to demonize people that care about freedom as some extremist or racist group. To be honest they should be asking themselves if they are the ones that promote hatred, extremism, racism, and control over people. The evidence is certainly out there for people to make up their own mind.
