Event: Boulder “Liberty on the Rocks” event at Conor O’Neills
When: Thu, Mar 4 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Description: Come and join us for our inaugural “Liberty on the Rocks” event at Conor O’Neills at 7pm.

Our Mission Statement:
Liberty on the Rocks is a non-partisan, non-profit, social organization that seeks to unite liberty-minded individuals, regardless of political affiliation, who desire limited government, free markets and individual rights. With the goal of creating networks, friendships and intelligent conversation, Liberty on the Rocks seeks to initiate the grassroots energy and intelligent dialogue necessary to shift America back toward the constitutional principles of freedom used to found this nation.

Our Purpose:
Liberty on the Rocks is a grass-roots organization whose goal is to provide a social environment to unite liberty-minded individuals not only with one another, but also with the freedom-based organizations in their local communities. This social environment provides a place for individuals to meet and network with each other, gain and disseminate knowledge on the importance of limited government, free markets and individual rights and to learn more about what is going on in their local communities to enhance individual freedoms. It is our belief that those in this country have a right to protect their liberties, and it is only they, not the politicians in Washington, who have the power to do so.

History:
In the Spring of 2008 three friends sat around discussing the ways they could foster a much-needed liberty movement in their local community. What they determined was that the best way to bring people out to discuss the issues of freedom was to invite them to the bar to meet other like-minded individuals whom they could talk to. They talked with some other friends and asked them to spread the word. The first meeting was held in May of 2008 at My Brother’s Bar in Denver. 14 people showed up to share their thoughts with one another on liberty and how to best achieve it in America today. From there the grassroots movement had begun. Once Liberty on the Rocks Denver was established and deemed successful, other chapters would soon appear in other states as well as other cities in Colorado.

Some state legislators and Governor Ritter are trying to force tax increases through the legislature, despite our State Constitutional requirement that these tax increases be voted on by the people. The message of smaller government living within its means hasn’t gotten through.

While there is a day at the Capitol for every special interest group out there, one interest group – the taxpayer – seems to have been forgotten until now.

Event: Coalition for a Conservative Majority Meeting
When: Sun, Mar 14 6:00 pm – Mon, Mar 15 7:30 pm
Description: CONSERVATIVE GRASSROOTS HOSTS PROGRESS & STRATEGY MEETING
Meeting is part of community-wide effort to rally and mobilize conservatives to action and free Colorado and America from liberal agenda.

WHAT: The Coalition for a Conservative Majority serves as a central organizing hub and voice for all conservative individuals and organizations. CCM is a local grassroots coalition comprised of “we the people.”

We rally, recruit, educate, organize, and mobilize the Pikes Peak area to empower all conservative individuals and organizations to unite against the liberal regime and re-establish responsibility in government. CCM works with other conservative single– and multi-issue organizations to raise awareness and plan action against current and future liberal agendas at all levels of government.

WHY: The current governing majorities in both the Colorado Legislature and United States Congress are working to gain complete control of the lives and fortunes of all Americans. This is resulting in broad, sweeping degradation of our freedoms. These freedoms were dearly bought by millions over the history of this Republic. It is our intent to regain those freedoms.

WHO: The Coalition for a Conservative Majority is a group of conservatives who will educate, strategize, coordinate, and mobilize to preserve the conservative founding principles that made this nation great. The group is dedicated to returning common sense and conservative values to Colorado and America.

Event: Boulder “Liberty on the Rocks” event at Conor O’Neills
When: Thu, Mar 18 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Also, Wayne Root should be speaking to the Convention, agenda has not been set. Please also think about if you will be a delegate to National in St. Louis in May as we will vote on our delegation on top of all of the other changes.

And finally, the State Board has some vacancies and board positions up for a vote with a few incumbants stepping down. We need to exhaust every effort to recruit valuable board members.

Currently, we have three people seeking our nomination for Colorado Governor.
We have candidates seeking our nomination for every U.S. Congressional District and the U.S. Senate. This is good news.
We have some candidates seeking our nomination for state General Assembly seats. We need more. If you score near the top of the Nolan Chart and can effectively articulate why you answer each question on the World Smallest Political Quiz the way you do, consider running.
With growing dissatisfaction to the big-government two-party duopoly, the Libertarian Party of Colorado has an opportunity to do well in the 2010 elections. We are the only political party that actually believes in small government and free markets. The ONLY ONE. However, to capitalize, we need to provide an option to the public. The best way to provide that option is to run as many qualified Libertarian candidates as we can. We are off to a good start. Let us keep up the pressure.
