The monetary base has been expanded by roughly $1Trillion (more than double) since last September. Check it out for yourself at http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h3/Current/h3.htm. This freshly printed (keystroked) money was handed over to the big banks and used to shore up their balance sheets. As they lend it out, that new money will make its way though the various orders of goods and services (a process known as ‘velocity’), driving up prices along the way. When this inflation comes (and you are seeing it already with the stock market, medical costs, the relation of housing, oil, etc.) how will the Fed deal with it? How will they pull liquidity out of the system? Well, in 2008 the Fed devised a scheme whereby they can pay interest on bank reserves held on deposit with them. So when the inflated monetary base starts working it’s way into the economy, the Fed can suck it back out by merely increasing the interest rate paid to bankers for keeping their cash on deposit with the Fed. What are the implications of this? 1. Does it not still create even more money in the form of monetized interest payments? 2. Will the Fed get in a vicious [...]

Over 5000 concerned citizens from across Colorado gathered at the steps of the State Capital this afternoon. They gathered to send a loud and clear message to Washington DC. STOP SPENDING AND WASTING OUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS AND STOP INCREASING THE SIZE OF GOVERNMENT. Libertarians, Conservatives, Constitutionalists, Independents, and moderate Democrats all showed at this the second rally this year. I was at the both rallies and I was very impressed at the turnout today. I feel better knowing more people are starting to stand up for their liberties and tell their government NO MORE! When I got home I happened to turn on CNN and listed to someone covering a news story at another rally. The reporter had an absurd question that mentioned that 95% of Americans are getting a tax cut this year. What the reporter failed to mention was the trillion plus we have to go in debt under the Obama plan. It also didn’t account for the inflation tax we will soon see with all our commodities. I am personally frustrated with biased news reporting which doesn’t account with how people really feel about policies. Thank goodness for the Internet where I can access millions of articles, [...]

This bill establishes a system for certain transactions to allow the state and political subdivisions to make and receive payment using an electronic gold currency.
