On the night of January 15, 2009, nineteen-year-old Community College of Denver student Alexander Landau was stopped by Denver police for allegedly making an illegal left turn. But according to a federal complaint filed yesterday, within minutes of the stop Landau was being beaten by three Denver cops, two of whom were wielding a radio and a flashlight as bludgeons. When it was all over, he was taken to Denver Health to be treated for a broken nose, lacerations and closed head injuries — but not before he demanded somebody take photos of him. Read More .. This police department acts more like a mob, than as public servants out to protect people.

You may want to reconsider that camping get-away you have planned if you’re thinking of seclusion, getting away from technology, and getting “back in touch” with mother nature. Depending on where you are camping, the only touching that may be going on is the Federal Park Ranger touching the video camera controls aimed at your tent. IslandPacket.com posted an article by Tony Bartelme of postandcourier.com that illustrates the ever growing number of video surveillance in Federal U.S. Parks. Last month, Herman Jacob took his daughter and her friend camping in the Francis Marion National Forest. While poking around for some firewood, Jacob noticed a wire. He pulled on it and followed it to a video camera and antenna. The camera didn’t have any markings identifying its owner, so Jacob took it home and called law enforcement agencies to find out if it was theirs, all the while wondering why someone would station a video camera in an isolated clearing in the woods. He eventually received a call from Mark Heitzman of the U.S. Forest Service. In a stiff voice, Heitzman ordered Jacob to turn it back over to his agency, explaining that it had been set up to monitor “illicit [...]

Garry Reid, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Combating Terrorism recently spoke to the Senate Armed Services Emerging Threats subcommittee. Reid, according to a report by The Hill, said, “Enabled by 21st-century technology, extremists have optimized the use of Internet chat rooms, Web sites and e-mail chains to spread their virulent messages and reach a global audience of potential recruits,” Reid told the Senate Armed Services Committee in prepared testimony. “It is this highly evolved radicalization process that enabled al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to make contact with a wealthy Nigerian student living in London, recruit, train and equip him in the remote tribal regions of Yemen, position him in the Netherlands and ultimately dispatch him on a suicide mission to the United States, all within a period of weeks,” Reid added. “By contrast, the 9/11 operation took about two and a half years to develop from the time Osama bin Laden approved it in April 1999,” he said. Apparently terrorists had no idea of the amazing power of the internet and it’s communcation tools in 1999. Lucky for us, terrorists were still using smoke signals, the camel express, and morse code to communicate prior to [...]

The Census Bureau played a role in the confinement of more than 100,000 Americans of Japanese descent who were rounded up and held in internment camps, many until the war ended in 1945. In 1942, the Census turned over general statistics about where Japanese-Americans lived to the War Department. It was acting legally under the Second War Powers Act, which allowed the sharing of information for national security.
Let’s start with a quote from blogger Jack Ward: Never waste a good crisis has become the mantra of the Obama administration. This ideology was first echoed by President Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. Less than ten days after Obama was elected president, Emanuel went on a Sunday morning talk show and said, “Rule one: Never allow a crisis to go to waste. … They are opportunities to do big things.” It can not be claimed that the current economic crises was created by Team O but they get credit for taking a large fire and dousing it with gasoline. Lets give credit where it is due though: Team Bush started the process. Remember the original TARP idiocy? The one McCain, and that’s Mr. Loose Cannon himself, “suspended his campaign” for to fly back to D.C. and act terminally confused? (John, tis better to keep your mouth shut and let the world think you’re a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.) That started the D.C. gasoline process, one which little o was only too glad to expand and accelerate. Do you remember the “stimulus package?” Investor’s Business Daily’s take on this was: The old [...]

A recent report which was leaked to the public from the Missouri Information Analysis Center makes reference to followers of former presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as a potential militia members and a possible terrorist threat. Militia members most commonly associate with 3rd party political groups. It is not uncommon for the militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty, or Libertarian material. These members are usually supports of former Presidential Candidate: Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr. Militia members commonly display picture, cartoons, bumper stickers that contain anti-government rhetoric. Most of this material will depict the FRS, IRS, FBI, ATF, CIA, UN, Law Enforcement, and ‘The New World Order’ in a derogatory manor. Additionally, Radical, anti-immigration, and anti-abortion, material may be displayed by militia members. Miac Strategic Report I don’t know about you, but the way this reads is if you question the government, the federal reserve system, or just believe in the Constitution, then MIAC thinks you might be a terrorist. This is unacceptable profiling and should be an embarrassment to MIAC, the State of Missouri, and the Department of Homeland Security. MIAC needs to retract their report and make a public [...]
