Thanks to an excellent source of campaign finance data, OpenSecrets.org, I would like to show that Rep. Diana Degette’s sponsored legislation shows a strong tendency toward health care related bills. Maybe its a coincidence that her major campaign contributors are from the health care industry.
Rep Degette, this is a disgraceful approach to politics. It shows that you favor your contributors over your own constituents. I feel bad for the people you represent in your district. They must have a hard time getting you to recognize other important issues; like the collapsing of our financial markets, or the 10 percent unemployment rate. Nah, those things shouldn’t bother you. As long as big pharma and big health care can push out all competition and feed your campaign you will be satisfied, right? I heard that you block people outside your district from contacting you from your site. Are you not a pubic servant representing Colorado? How dare you keep people from expressing their concerns. I hope the people of your district wake up for the 2010 election. Make sure you tell them you represent big pharma and big health care, not the people.

Diana DeGette is worthless. The people of Denver should have got rid of her long ago.
I sure hope she’s not a “pubic servant.” Now THAT would be something to worry about.
Commenters RPF and Paris are worthless sore losers who do not respect elections. DeGette has co-sponssored H.R. 3596 which would subject helath insurance companies to anti-trust legislation for the first time in 64 years. Only a fool would oppose that…or someone unduly influenced by the health insurance industry. Now you tools arte exposed for what you are.
keeemosabe, there is an old saying, “government breaks your legs, hands you a crutch, and says ‘See, if it wasn’t for government you wouldn’t be able to walk.’”. We would not have a problem with monopolies, oligopolies, and price fixing if they weren’t protected by the government in the first place. In a true free market, competition keeps businesses and prices in check. In a fascist market, like the one DeGette feeds off, the regulations are so deep that only a few companies that lobbied their way into position can survive. Since they have no competition they control the market. More regulations in the health care industry means less resources for you and me. It also means higher prices and lower quality.
@Rod G
“More regulations in the health care industry means less resources for you and me. It also means higher prices and lower quality.”
Really? So we should allow the insurance industry to continue with their rampant slaughter of the American working class and keep regs off so you can get your GREAT healthcare coverage? And you are pushing this anti-Degette rhetoric?
And while we are at it, since when has the US had anything CLOSE to a “true free market”?
And what makes you think it ever will if the Insurance industry is not broken up and regulated?
It is all the dereg from Reagan through Bush that destroyed the checks and balances
Thanks Cosmic Surfer, your entire cult of regulators are wrong. You are blaming capitalism for something your socialist fans created — Fascism.
