Free and Independent States

Although there were only 13 colonies around before the Declaration of Independence was signed, there has and always been a consensus from our country’s founders to keep the states sovereign and keep federal government out of the meddling of the states.  They understood local government can be more accommodating to the the needs of the people, more than a central government which knows nothing of the localities or it’s people. 233 years have passed since this document was signed and now it seems as if the United States is no different than the British Empire by copying its behavior of world domination and systematic controls over vast groups of people, including the American people.  The federal government has usurped almost all power of the states, even though the constitution strictly forbids this.  The federal government itself has been at constant war with every single major government in the world. For far too long the federal government has been using its powers to oppress individual rights and unjustly stealing private property.  If our founders were around today they would be sick to their stomachs.  This country has become the exact opposite of their vision.  They wanted freedom and individual rights for all of us.  They wanted states and local manipulates to be where government was focused.  They never wanted a country to be at constant war.  They never wanted oppressive taxes on the people.  They never wanted fiat currency in the economy.  They never wanted or expected what has become of America today.

There are many Americans that want exactly what the founders wanted. They often find themselves disenfranchised by their government. My hope is more people can bring back the ideas of individual liberty and independent sovereign states. We can start by using the same ideas our founders used when dealing with the British Empire. It can be as simple as saying ‘NO MORE’ to the federal government. The government is nothing more than the consent of the governed. Don’t ever forget this. We need to demand sovereignty for Colorado. We need to demand the government stay within the bounds of the Constitution. We need to take care of our Life, Liberty, and never give up on the pursuit of Happiness. Oppression and tyranny are not American values. We must put a stop to them.
